Akili Dada is an international award-winning leadership incubator, whose mission is to nurture transformative leadership in girls and young women from underserved backgrounds to meet the urgent need for more African women in leadership.

They run various programs with different age groups, to teach them life skills and provide career guidance and maintenance.

In one of their recent annual summits, the theme of the conference was "Girls Spark Innovation". In line with this, I facilitated a design thinking training workshop, where I was tasked with teaching them the principles of design thinking and how it can be used as a tool to spark innovation. At the end of the conference, the 60 girls, had  not only learnt the theory, but went further ahead to conduct interviews, build user personas and journeys, learn how to brainstorm, and prototyped solutions for various problems around leadership, health and nutrition and sexual reproduction and health.
