  • April - May 2019

Fuzu Limited is a Pan-African company that launched the Fuzu employment platform in 2015. Fuzu combines the strengths of the world-renowned Finnish education and innovation systems with deep understanding of the end-user, their needs and aspirations in the African context. Fuzu aims to change the landscape of job search and recruitment by turning hopeless job-hunting into an ever inspiring journey of self-discovery.

The scope of work in this assignment involved conducting a UX research study in informal settlements in Kenya's capital city and using this insights to redesign the platform in order to meet the needs of bottom of the pyramid users, to enable them to enjoy the benefits of the Fuzu platform when it comes to job placement and career advancement.

I conducted a 3 day field research exercise as well as a usability test of the existing platform with a select number of users to evaluate the ease of use of the platform. We then used the insights gathered from the study to come up with a report with insights and recommendations from the study and designed mid-fidelity prototypes of the proposed home page and on-boarding process for the blue collar segment.
